Please organise your own accommodation if needed.
Bath Terrace Car Park (SatNav GL50 2BA) offers reasonable all day parking a few minutes’ walk away.
Our rooms are all accessible via lift. Please let us know if you have any accessibility issues.
You will be notified of your arrival and start times upon confirmation of booking.
Non-attendance
Please notify us if you are unable to attend or if you have any enquiries prior to the assessment date. Please read our terms and conditions for our cancellation policy.
Refreshments and lunch break
Drinking water is available onsite. Please note you will have a 60-minute lunch break. You can bring your own food, purchase from the onsite café (food, snacks, tea/coffee) or you can pop out for lunch. (We do not provide tea/coffee in the training room, please purchase from the onsite café.)
Equipment
We offer you the choice of using a Cyber Scheme laptop or your own device. If you use your own laptop, please ensure you have Wi-Fi capabilities and charger, in order to sit the assessment.
Hard drives will be erased (or retained) so please be prepared to remove them from your laptop at the end of the session. All drives that are installed in the laptop at the time of the test will need to be wiped.
You may be connecting to a public Wi-Fi in order to participate in the assessment. It is strongly recommended that you use a VPN on your device to mitigate against the risks associated with using public Wi-Fi. Guidance can be found on the NCSCs website here. (The same guidance also applies to laptops.)
Mobile Phones
You will be asked to put phones / tech on silent and away during exams, you will not be contactable via teams, slack etc during the assessment.
Written assessment
You will be presented with a series of scenarios or situations, typical of those that arise during a Red Team engagement and asked questions relating to them. You will be required to provide long form written responses.
Written assessment (long and/or shortform questions). 2.5 – 3 hours.
It is open book.
Scenario presentation
Presentation of pre-work to assessor – ½-1 hour.
Interview
Interview after written assessment to interrogate further some of the themes that have come up in responses to written work and other topics relating to the KSATs – 1-1.5 hours.
You will be notified of your discussion/interview date during your booking process; we advise that you take 2-3 weeks to work on your presentation, before attending the written assessment.
Assessment Outcome
Results and feedback will be sent to you by email approx. 7 days after your interview. Click here for details on the assessment format and additional steps including a presentation and interview.
Upon a successful outcome, we will issue you with the Cyber Scheme Red Team Manager certification.
Please note: If a candidate fails an exam and wishes to retake, the whole exam will need to be taken again. No results will be carried over and the new exam will need to be paid in full before the candidate can sit for the retake.
Inclusion and Accessibility during your assessment
We are available to discuss any concerns you have and are more than happy to make reasonable adjustments for any candidate who requires them during this assessment.
These reasonable adjustments are to ensure you are given an equal opportunity to demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours required. We recognise that not all disabilities are visible.
We have a range of reasonable adjustments we can offer depending on what difficulty you might face. If you request an adjustment which we are unable to offer, we will give you a reason why we cannot offer it. This might be because it maps to a key Knowledge, Skill or Behaviour that we have to assess against within the certification. If that is the case, we will tell you which aspect we think would not be properly assessed.
There may be background noise during an assessment. Please bring (or ask for) ear plugs / ear defenders or listen to music if background noise is likely to affect your concentration.
Mobility
Access to all of our facilities is suitable for people with mobility issues. Should any other special facilities be required please get in touch at time of booking. For some reasonable adjustments, such as access to a disabled parking space, we will need to see supporting documentation around the condition to allow us to apply for this access for you. No information will be retained or stored once the request is validated.
Walking directions to the nearest Pay & Display car park can be found here.
There are two entry points to the Eagle Tower building where our assessment rooms are located. Please make your way to the main entrance on Montpellier Drive – look for the large eagle statue outside the revolving doors. When you arrive, please introduce yourself at reception and make your way to the seats shown here, where you will be met by one of our training team.
Our assessment rooms are full of natural light, with window blinds and overhead fluorescent lights when needed. You may have an interview in a smaller discussion room with no windows.
We have drinking water in our rooms. There is an onsite cafe selling hot and cold food in the ground floor reception area. If you have any allergies please let us know at time of booking.
There are accessible toilets on every floor.
You may be taking your assessment alongside candidates attending our centre for other exams. You will be able to discuss this with our booking team when confirming a suitable date.
