Become an Accredited Training Centre
Join us as we expand provision of the highest quality training available
The Cyber Scheme’s Accredited Training Centre (ATC) programme recognises training providers that are capable of developing and delivering high-quality, technically robust cyber security training.
Organisations accepted onto the programme work in collaboration with The Cyber Scheme to create and deliver courses that are aligned to real-world assessment requirements and emerging industry needs.
Approved courses are included within The Cyber Scheme portfolio and promoted through official channels, providing visibility to employers and candidates seeking credible training routes.
A clear route into recognised cyber training
The ATC programme is designed to create a direct link between training, assessment, and professional recognition.
For organisations already delivering high-quality technical training, accreditation provides a practical route to formal recognition, improved market visibility, and closer alignment with industry standards.

The Application Process
The application process for Accredited Training Centres is designed to be clear, proportionate, and focused on demonstrating real capability in both technical delivery and instruction.
Training organisations interested in becoming an Accredited Training Centre should begin by assessing their readiness against the eligibility criteria and instructor requirements outlined below.
The Cyber Scheme team will work with applicants to review submitted training programmes and ensure alignment with the required standards.
To become an Accredited Training Centre, providers must demonstrate both organisational security and quality standards through independently audited certification.
This may include:
- Technical certifications such as Cyber Essentials Plus
- Organisational security certifications such as ISO 27001 or IASME Cyber Assurance.
In addition, organisations must identify at least one qualifying instructor for each training programme submitted for approval.
Qualifying Instructors
Each approved course must be delivered by at least one qualifying instructor who can demonstrate:
- Strong subject matter expertise aligned to the course content
- Practical, real-world experience in the relevant competencies
- The ability to deliver effective, structured training.
Instructional capability must be evidenced. This may include:
- Teaching qualifications (e.g. PGCE, CTTLS/DTLLS)
- Professional training credentials (e.g. CTT+, MCT)
- Evidence of delivery (e.g. conference presentations or industry talks)
- Internal sign-off confirming observed delivery capability.
Equivalent evidence will be considered where organisations can demonstrate instructional competence through other means.
Organisations accepted onto the ATC programme are expected to maintain quality, transparency, and alignment with The Cyber Scheme standards.
ATCs must:
- Allow at least one course per year to be observed by The Cyber Scheme
- Collect end-of-course feedback from candidates
- Share anonymised and aggregated feedback data
- Share candidate details to enable appropriate assessment progression
- Deliver only authorised and approved course content
- Ensure all training is delivered by qualified instructors
- Maintain a minimum level of course delivery (at least five seats per approved course per year)
These requirements ensure consistency, quality assurance, and a clear link between training and assessment.
Organisations submit an application outlining:
- Their training provision and areas of specialism
- The courses they wish to have accredited
- Evidence of organisational security and quality standards (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus)
This stage establishes whether the organisation meets the baseline requirements to be considered for accreditation.
Applicants must identify at least one qualifying instructor for each course submitted.
For each instructor, organisations are required to provide:
- Evidence of subject matter expertise
- Details of relevant practical experience
- Evidence of instructional capability and delivery
This ensures that approved training is delivered by individuals with both technical credibility and the ability to teach effectively.
Submitted courses are reviewed to ensure alignment with:
- The Cyber Scheme assessment standards
- Real-world competencies required in industry
- The expected level of technical depth and rigour
Where necessary, organisations will be asked to refine course content to achieve consistency with the required standard.
Once review is complete, a formal accreditation decision is made.
Successful organisations are:
- Confirmed as an Accredited Training Centre (ATC)
- Approved to deliver specified courses under The Cyber Scheme portfolio
Feedback is provided where further development is required before accreditation can be awarded.
Following approval, organisations are onboarded onto the programme.
This includes:
- Inclusion within The Cyber Scheme training portfolio
- Guidance on use of approved content and branding
- Alignment on data sharing, course observation, and reporting requirements
The Cyber Scheme team works with ATCs to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience from the outset.
Accreditation is maintained through ongoing engagement and quality assurance.
ATCs are expected to:
- Deliver approved training using authorised content
- Participate in course observation and feedback processes
- Share candidate and course performance data
- Maintain minimum levels of course delivery
This ensures that all accredited training remains current, relevant, and aligned to industry needs.
