Application for Professional Registration - Security Testing Specialism

We are the only Licensed Body to offer two alternative routes towards your Professional registration; interview or employer testimonial. We believe this supports our testing community by offering a choice of application process which suits individuals and their preferred career pathway. You choose.

You will be required to state on your application form whether you are applying for Chartered or Principal status. Applicants are required to hold a valid qualifying certification (CSTL or equivalent).

You will be expected to demonstrate and provide evidence of your knowledge, skills and competence in your application. Please don’t apply unless you are satisfied you meet the criteria. We recommend you read our detailed application guidance notes here before starting your application.

Your application will progress as follows:

Step 1

Check eligibility

Please ensure you have read the Professional Standards, have the required experience and have a current certification as specified with at least 12 months validity.

Step 2

Complete application

Please ensure you have read our application guidance, and take the time to complete the form as accurately and thoroughly as you can. Please notify referees/attestors.

Step 3

Upload completed form

You will be sent a secure upload link upon downloading your application form, where you can upload the form, accompanying certs, CV and other required documentation.

Step 4

Pay application fee

In order for your application to be processed, you will need to pay a fee upon receipt of invoice.

Step 5

Interview/attestation

If you have chosen the interview route, we will contact you with an interview date, or let you know if your application has been unsuccessful.

If you are supplying employer testimonials, our thorough checking process will begin.
