The Cyber Scheme, the UK’s leading professional body for technical cyber security practitioners, is an approved provider under the Ministry of Defence’s Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Scheme (ELCAS).
This milestone enables serving personnel and veterans to use their ELC funding toward all of The Cyber Scheme’s technical qualifications.
ELCAS provides financial support to eligible armed forces members for higher-level learning, offering up to £2,000 annually over three claim years.
Why This Matters
All of our assessments, including The Cyber Scheme’s flagship Technical Assessment, Cyber Scheme Team Member (CSTM), as well as our training programmes from entry to advanced level are now fully ELCAS-eligible. These certifications provide pathways to high-demand cyber careers and meet strict government standards for assurance schemes including CHECK and Cyber Essentials.
How It Works
- Check eligibility: Serving or ex-service personnel with at least six years of service are eligible. Higher-tier funding is available for those with eight years or more of service.
- Browse and book: Choose from approved technical assessments and training courses, including CSFL, CSTM, and CSTL.
- Submit ELC claim: Apply through the ELCAS platform, citing The Cyber Scheme as the approved provider. Once approved, receive a Claim Authorisation Note to enrol.
- Attend and certify: Complete the course or assessment. The Cyber Scheme will coordinate with ELCAS to process the funding, covering up to 80% of course fees.
